ECNIS INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP

ECNIS Workshop on Biomarkers and Cancer

Porto, Portugal, September 21st -23rd, 2009

ECNIS is a European Network of Excellence, established in 2005 and funded for five years, that is exploring the potential of biomarkers of exposure and bioindicators of disease to determine how diet and hereditary factors influence environmental cancer risk. The overall goal is to bring together researchers from different disciplines in order to share expertise and resources, to collaborate in research, to provide training and to communicate knowledge to stakeholders such as regulators and policy makers. The goal of the present meeting is to examine the use of biomarkers for improved carcinogen risk assessment of mixtures and, in this the final year of the Network, to consider future priorities for developing biomarkers of exposure, effect and chemoprevention.
